Knock You Naked Brownies

Posted in Holidays by

I have been making these brownies for our annual cookie exchange for almost 15 years now. I needed a cookie that was all my own and so I did a quick internet search (not Pinterest because I don’t think it existed yet.) I came across these double chocolate caramel brownies, and with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, they were begging to be made. So, I bit the bullet, got enough ingredients for 5 batches and then they became a part of the cookie exchange.

Now a days I only make 3 batches because we have lessened our load a bit when it comes to the cookies, but it still takes time.

These are incredibly delicious but I only make them once a year. The reason is because they are kind of a pain. Once you take that first bite of the ooey-gooey chocolate and caramel, the work it takes to make them is immediately worth it.

I have since found similar recipes of the same name all over Pinterest, but these are the Knock You Naked Brownies that I make.

You will need:
1 package of German Chocolate Cake Mix (yes, it matters)
1/2 cup of melted butter
1/3 cup of evaporated milk
1/2 cup of evaporated milk
50 caramels (always a pain to find. They are in the candy aisle)
1 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix the cake mix with the melted butter and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk.

3. Divide the dough and press half of it in a greased 13×9 inch pan. These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. And with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, how can you go wrong?

4. Bake for 8 minutes, then remove from the oven.

5. Melt the caramels with 1/2 cup evaporated milk. These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. And with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, how can you go wrong?I use the microwave and heat at 1 min to 30 secondย intervals, stirring between. You can feel free to use a double boiler. Be sure the caramel is completely melted. Any little chunks left over will be really hard to chew in the finished product. These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. 6. Pour melted caramel over baked layer of brownie and evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel. These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. And with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, how can you go wrong?

7. Put the remaining dough on top of the chocolate chips as evenly as you can. The dough is very stiff. The easiest way I’ve found to do this step, is to roll out the dough between two pieces of plastic wrap. These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. And with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, how can you go wrong?

Then place on top of the caramel and chocolate chips.

8. Bake for 25 minutes.

9. Let it cool slightly, then scrape around the edges. If you skip this step, the brownies will be really tough to get out of the pan.

They may take a tiny bit of work, but it’s so, so worth it! Enjoy!!These delicious caramel brownies are the perfect treat for any gathering. And with a name like Knock You Naked Brownies, how can you go wrong?
