Better Than Sex Cake

I can’t recall where I got this recipe. I used to make this cake a lot when I was in high school.

So, a couple of things about it-

First off, I didn’t name it. But you also don’t see me changing it. I’ve seen it called “Better Than Anything Cake” also, so I suppose you can choose which name you prefer. I tried to come up with my own- “Mind Blowing Cake,” “Really, Really Delicious Cake,” and then I decided to just keep the original.

Second, when I made this cake for Sunday family dinner, I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I hadn’t made in over 15 years, and, well, the ingredients are extremely rich. I didn’t know if it was going to flop, or if it would be a huge hit!

Since it turned out even better than I remembered, I thought I would share it.

To make your very own Better Than Sex Cake, you will need:

Better Than Sex Cake

A box of chocolate cake mix (You will also need the ingredients to make the cake, whatever that may be on the box.)
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
One jar caramel sauce
Cool Whip

1. Bake the cake as directed on the box in a 13×9 inch pan.

2. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes in it everywhere.Better Than Sex Cake

3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk all over the cake.

Using a rubber scraper (spatula), spread it around evenly until most of it has been soaked up by the cake.

4. Pour the caramel sauce all over the cake. The original recipe calls for the entire jar of caramel sauce, I only used about 2/3’s of it.

Spread it around like step 3 until it is soaked in.

5. Spread the cool whip to cover the entire cake. I would recommend using all of the cool whip because it balances out the sweetness.

As I said, it turned out even better than I remember. I would recommend refrigerating it for a little bit before you eat it, but we weren’t able to wait that long.

Do you have any favorite desserts you haven’t made in a long time?

This is a family favorite of mine. To make it even more sinful we put heath bits on top. Mmmm! Now I want this. Looks SO good.
