5 Ingredient Chili

According to our little groundhog friend back in the Midwest, winter is coming to an end. Or is it technically over now? I’m not quite sure how that works, but what I do know, it’s still pretty cold here in the Pacific Northwest. So in my book, we’re still in the midst of comfort food weather. For me that means chili!!

And I have an incredibly easy, 5 Ingredient Chili recipe that is delicious! And as far as chili goes, it’s super fast!

This recipe is from my Aunt who has made this chili every year for our Christmas cookie baking get togethers. A few years ago, I took over making it so she could focus on more important things like making her yummy Spritz!

The recipe as it is, is extremely bland. To make it delicious and amazing, you just need to add a bit of salt, and your favorite chili powder.

Delicious, super easy 5 Ingredient Chili.

For this 5 Ingredient Chili, you will need:

Ingredients for 5 Ingredient Chili

2 pounds ground beef (or ground turkey)*

1 onion

1 can diced tomatoes

2 cans rinsed and drained kidney beans

2 cans tomato soup

  1. Dice the onion and add it to a large pot along with the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper.

2. Once the meat and onion are cooked, add the rest of the ingredients and stir.

3. Add about 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of your favorite chile powder and a dash of cumin. (I know, extra ingredients). My familys favorite chili powder is Chipotle Chile Pepper. The smoked flavor is amazing!

4. Simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour, then serve.

*If you want to add some veggies to this dish, you can always make the ground beef with veggies. It adds a bit of healthy and an even more complex flavor.

We had this chili during the big game last weekend. I had mine over a bed of Doritos, topped off with some shredded cheddar cheese.

It really is super simple! The tomato soup is really great-its also what makes it so bland. LOL! But that’s where the chili powder comes in! I hope you enjoy it!
