Play-doh Surprise Eggs for Easter

Posted in Holidays by

My daughter has been a huge fan of the smartphone since she was about a year old. My son, bless him, has always followed in his sister’s footsteps a few years later. He is almost 3, and he has just developed an obsession appreciation for it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it took him this long. Because now all he wants to do is sit and watch a soft-spoken lady open nesting dolls, pez dispensers, and play-doh covered anything.

Don’t worry, we certainly limit the screentime. But when he does get to watch whatever he wants, that’s what he chooses.

My daughter has a love for the same videos, but she has ventured out a bit here and there.

It’s pretty funny to watch them play on their own. Often times I’ll hear my daughter say something like, “Hi guys, today we are going to…” as if she was the star of her own video. My son does something similar, but he isn’t quite talking in sentences yet.

So this year for their Easter baskets, my husband and I decided to recreate their absolute favorite thing to watch. We are going to be wrapping everything in Play-doh.Our newest addition to Easter baskets this year, Play-doh Surprise Eggs!!

It’s simple enough. Buy small toys that will fit in a plastic egg once its covered in Play-doh.A fun new addition to the Easter baskets this year-play-doh surprise eggs! It’s important they fit in the egg because part of the “fun” is shaking the egg to hear what is inside. This is our fun new addition to Easter baskets! Another fun one is covering the outside of a few eggs. So I thought we would get bigger eggs that already had candy in them. This is our fun new addition to Easter Baskets this year! Play-doh Surprise Eggs!

It may sound silly, but if my kiddos love watching someone else open things covered in Play-doh as much as they do, I can only imagine what their reaction might be if they get to do it themselves!

IMPORTANT!! Remember, Play-doh dries out. Do not cover toys or eggs several days ahead. For best results, cover the night before or the morning of.

What do you like to do for your kiddos’ Easter baskets? Do they like to watch the Play-doh videos too?

Thank you! Mine too. My daughter is always doing it herself, then opening it herself. I thought I would save her a step. LOL!

LOL That reminder is key! Otherwise if you have a Dino fan that can chip away at it! Boom!
This is such a cute idea though!!! My boys would have gone crazy for this if I had done this a couple years ago!

Hahaha, seriously though. I wouldn’t have thought of it if I hadn’t spent the last two years picking up dried play-doh everywhere.

Thank you! Both of my kids really loved it! However, my son kept getting distracted by candy. But my daughter was having a blast opening everything.
