Clean Out Your Car in 5 Minutes or Less

If your family is anything like mine, your car is always a disaster. With two young kids, junk toys pile up on the floor of my car like nobody’s business.

To keep my sanity, I have to clean everything out every week or so. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of extra time to do it so I’ve figured out how to clean it all out in 5 minutes or less.

You will need two bags. A plastic bag for garbage, and a “to-keep bag” for clothes, toys, etc.

If you don’t have the luxury of nap time, let the kids play in the car while you clear it out. My kids Love to pretend they’re driving-not to mention honk the horn play with all the fun radio buttons.

Go through your car as quickly as possible throwing trash in the designated trash bag, and everything else in the to-keep bag.

When you’re done, throw the trash bag away and take your other bag inside to put toys and clothes in their designated areas.

Now, what you do with your car once you can see the floor is completely up to you. Today, I’m maybe going to take a few extra minutes to vacuum…because, yikes!!

Happy cleaning!

One of these would certainly be helpful right now. I guess they’re something to add to my wish list! (affiliate link)

This is an awesome tip! I just spent 1.5 hrs last week wiping down/cleaning out my car. It’s amazing how fast it can get dirty again with kids!

My car is always a disaster area. I think we could make a full meal off the stuff on the floor!

I just cleaned my car out this weekend. Okay, fine. Joel cleaned it out. You got me. I hate how messy it gets even when you try to stay organized. This is great advice to keep in mind, though.

Woo hoo! You did it! My husband is an incredible neat freak so he cleans it out every day. Otherwise mine would be a disaster I’m sure.

Oh my goodness. My car is disgusting. I have so many pairs of shoes, toys, food, more toys, wrappers, and who knows what is under all that. I need to do this tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!

Super simple and so smart. My car looks like Toys R Us garbage bin threw up all over it. I’m definitely using this. Also, my kids also love playing “drive the car” so I;lll use that to my advantage too!

Great idea! I hate it when our car gets messy… I tend to make Z help me clean it out every day because I am so OCD about it. 🙂
