Our last treasure hunt was such a huge success with the kiddos, we decided to do another one.
This time, we thought it would be fun to do a Halloween Treasure Hunt.[Tweet “Get into the Halloween spirit with a #Halloween Treasure Hunt!!”]
Full disclosure, it was completely my husband’s idea. But I made the maps this time…which is why I don’t have any pictures of them. Crayons and I don’t get along…

For the Halloween Treasure Hunt, you will need:
-A spooky container
-Candy
-Toys
-Fun Halloween “filler” (We got a bunch of little jewels and decor items that filled up our container nicely.)
-A treasure map for each kid
All of these items can be found at the Dollar Store. Which is part of the beauty of this activity-it’s so inexpensive!!
My husband burned the edges of the map to make it look awesome. Then, as I said earlier, I drew them.
Since my son isn’t really into the “hunt” part yet, I drew both maps for my daughter.
She’s working on her letters and sight words, so I labeled a few things on the map so she could practice.
The first map led her to her treasure and it had the second map which led to her brother’s treasure. And while he didn’t partake in the search, he sure had fun looking through his goodies!
For a little bit of extra Halloween fun, my girl got dressed up as Cinderella.
This treasure hunt was a huge success and I can’t wait to do another holiday themed hunt for the kiddos!
