I love hosting themed parties. It is so much fun for me to come up with cute decorations and food to match up with the theme. Last year, I got to co-host a Halloween birthday party.
This year, I don’t have a party to host, but I still thought of something cute and easy in case you need a last minute decor idea for a cake or cupcakes.
It was super quick for me to throw together, so I’m sure you can do it too, in no time. It also helps that I opted to buy the cupcakes instead of making them (busy mom cheat!), but that part is up to you.[Tweet “If you’re hosting a Halloween party this year, these Halloween Cupcake Toppers are sure to be a hit!”]For these adorable Halloween Cupcake Toppers, you will need:[expander_maker more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]
Plastic baggies, or piping bags
You could also use candy melts for this project. I don’t usually suggest them because I don’t like how they taste, but their vibrant colors could make for some really fun characters. Since I just used the two chocolates, I only added orange to make a few pumpkins.
1 Cut out the parchment paper to fit on a cookie sheet so it lays flat.
2. Melt the first chocolate you want to work with. In my case, I did the dark chocolate. You can melt the chocolate in the microwave at 30 second increments, then once melted, add it to your baggie. Or you can melt the chocolate directly in the baggie by sealing the bag and placing it in hot water. Before you start working with the chocolate, make sure it is completely melted.
3. Cut the very tip of one of the corners of the baggie. Make whatever fun, spooky design you like on the parchment paper. I made an outline of my design, then roughly filled it in with chocolate. Next, take an off set spatula to even out the chocolate. And watch out for little grabby fingers!!4. Repeat with the other chocolate, adding any extra details to the designs as needed (The “RIP” or the Ghosts eyes, for example.
5. Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
If you have a cake, it could be fun to make a cemetery cake, and add a bunch of the headstones. Then maybe throw a few ghosts on there. Ha! Then add some green sprinkles for grass, or even some green coconut.[Tweet “Super easy Halloween Cupcake Toppers are a spooky addition to your cupcakes!”]
