In my humble opinion, a cupcake cake is the most genius types of cake to serve kids and adults alike. That is, if you don’t have it in you to make these Fool Proof Cake Balls for the kiddo’s party, then a cupcake cake is the way to go.
They look like a real cake, but they pull apart easier than your favorite Pinterest Monkey Bread. And they are much tidier. You don’t have to mess with a knife or serving spatula. In fact, you don’t even have to mess with plates if you don’t want to. I would suggest napkins though, because, cake.

Or, you can come up with your own! One of the things I love about these cakes is they are so simple!
One way you could make them is to arrange your cupcakes in the shape you want, then frost them all together as if they are a regular cake. OR you could frost each cupcake separately and arrange them from there. Either way, they are delicious, super simple, and so practical!!
And just for fun, two of my cupcake cakes that didn’t turn out perfect, but my kids, and their friends LOVED them anyway!!
I should have done the actual rainbow colors instead of being lazy and using sprinkles.
Hahaha, where do I begin? I needed more cupcakes and I needed to push them closer together (notice the frosting sinking in certain spots. LOL!) But, either way, my son was stoked for his Batman Cake!
Have you ever made a cupcake cake? What theme do you think your kiddo would like for their birthday this year?
